Siau Sun commenced her legal career in January 1998 at a boutique firm specialising in building construction law, where she developed a solid foundation in the intricacies of construction disputes. She subsequently joined a mid-sized legal practice, gaining substantial experience in corporate and commercial litigation, and refining her skills in handling complex civil matters.

In 2003, she transitioned into the corporate sector as an in-house legal counsel with a public listed IT system integration company. In that role, she advised on a broad range of commercial and technology contracts and was actively involved in negotiations with both local and international vendors, including multinational corporations (MNCs) and government-linked companies (GLCs). Her exposure to the fast-paced IT industry provided her with a deep understanding of industry practices and the legal nuances surrounding IT procurement, licensing, and implementation agreements.

Returning to private practice in 2005, Siau Sun resumed her focus on civil and commercial litigation — a field she remains deeply passionate about. She is known for her sharp analytical mind, meticulous approach, and commitment to thorough case preparation. Her belief is that a well-prepared case not only enhances the prospects of success in court but often paves the way for favourable out-of-court resolutions.

Siau Sun's education in Chinese-medium schools at both the primary and secondary levels has equipped her with the ability to communicate fluently in the Chinese language, a skill that has proven valuable in serving a wide range of clients and navigating multilingual commercial environments.

Michele’s experience spans over 25 years in building,  strategizing and conducting commercial litigation. Her training includes developing cohesive and strong coalitions, as senior counsel or coordinating counsel, to achieve positive results in complex or multi-party litigation. She also provides advice on regulatory compliance issues and litigation strategies for companies, its officers and shareholders. Apart from litigation, Michele also actively consults on and reviews contracts for companies and businesses alike. These include joint ventures, partnerships, shareholders agreements and other related contracts.
